Note: A few antivirus programs keep detecting a couple of the included files as viruses. This is false positive. These vendors were informed numerous times and the serious companies such as DrWeb and Kaspersky, update their signatures to remove the false detection within a few hours after being informed. Others, such as McAfee, despite all the efforts and contacts, don’t do anything to update their signatures. For a few unknown ones, which use third party signatures, there is no way to contact them or they simply don’t respond. This program will never knowingly distribute any kind of malware.

  1. I’m sorry
But when I try to put Windows 7 and 8 on the flash
    Only one of them works
It can not act together, the two never
Why? And what I do in order to run two copies of Windows 7 and 8 together on a single flash
    Thank you

    • All recent 1.0 versions support multiple Vista/7/8 etc. sources. Which version are you using?
What happens with the other source, the not working one? How far does it boot, does it boot at all, is there an error or what?
Does that happen using unmodified original sources?
You’d have to be a lot more informative to be able to help.

  2. Not work on Windows 8.1 AiO 20in1 x64 Pre-Activated v2 Nov2013 which contain install.esd.
When i use Win Setup From USB v1.0, Windows setup dialog not coming instead repair question coming and PC restart automatically after 5 seconds. but If i use Win Setup From USB v1.2, the pc restart immediately without any confirmation right before the first windows setup suppose to be appear.

  3. itaushanov ; Your Tool is the ultimate one [ESD is working OK now for me] …….I can add all my tools in one USB Flash Drive …. and Q- Dir addition is brilliant idea from you………………Many thanks and keep it up. 🙂

    • I had thought about this many times, but unfortunately it’s Windows 7 and earlier versions limitation, which can be avoided only by injecting the appropriate USB 3.0 drivers into the wim files. This task might not be straightforward task, since there are variety of USB 3.0 drivers, plus the need to install Dism package on those machines which do not have it.
There is another possible solution without injecting them- load the driver using drvload at start of PE phase, but I’d need good variety of USB 3.0 hardware to properly test and develop such functionality.
So in short- that’s not an easy feature to implement programatically.
Should one needs USB 3.0 support for a specific hardware, the best option would be to manually inject the appropriate USB 3.0 drivers for this hardware.

  4. Just reporting, Windows 8.1 AiO 20in1 x64 Pre-Activated v2 Nov2013 iso now is working with Win Setup From USB v1.3. Thanx, you complete my day ^_^.

  5. brilliant program. hope that you will add Kaspersky Rescue Disk, Norton Bootable Rescue Tool or BitDefender Rescue Disk to your future releases wherein the updated data will be stored on the flash drive not on local disks.

this program helps me a lot. can i add multiple versions of Windows 7 in it? Windows XP, etc. on the same flash drive?

    • That’s good idea, thanks. I think an option for creating persistence files will be relatively easy to add, and in a version or two will be ready.

And yes, you can add as many Windows versions on the same USB disk, as the disk free space allows. The same applies for Linux/Grub4dos compatible ISOs.

      • You’re welcome man. Well, that’s good news. I am looking forward to that. 😀

How about adding Windows 7 AIO, Windows 8 AIO and Windows 8.1 AIO or any modded Windows ISO from XP, VISTA, 7, 8 and 8.1? Is there a way I can add all of these? Can you give some steps? I have a 32 GB Kingston flash drive.

Can you give/display lists of Linux/Grub4dos compatible ISOs that will surely run, will not fail or give any errors?

        Thanks in advance. 😀

More power to you and your program “winsetupfromusb”. Keep up the good work.

        • and oh, i almost forgot. i hope you will also add Parted Magic, StartOS, and PCLinuxOS with persistency in your future releases.

        • The option for persistence file will be per Linux source, meaning you can add such for each Linux ISO you are adding. Of course, the source itself must support persistence and must be booted with such option in boot parameters if needed.
About the other questions- please read the FAQ and Supported Sources pages, everything you are asking is there.

    • Do you have any troubles with the latest version (which are?), need new features (which are?), or why would you ask for a new version actually in such way?
