Note: A few antivirus programs keep detecting a couple of the included files as viruses. This is false positive. These vendors were informed numerous times and the serious companies such as DrWeb and Kaspersky, update their signatures to remove the false detection within a few hours after being informed. Others, such as McAfee, despite all the efforts and contacts, don’t do anything to update their signatures. For a few unknown ones, which use third party signatures, there is no way to contact them or they simply don’t respond. This program will never knowingly distribute any kind of malware.

    • What efi errors are you getting?
I am downloading the all-in-one version from this site to test, give me a few hours to check it.

    • when you create AIO installation disk you use the base 32 Bits disk, that don´t support the UEFI system, because the file “boot.wim” dont have the uefi boot, u need a 64 bits base disk.

  1. I download an ISO of Windows 10 single language PT-BR 32 and 64 bits together from microsoft’s utiity MediaCreationToolx64.exe and winsetupfromusb 1.6 beta 2 shows this error: This doesn’t seem to be valid source!

  2. I have downloaded multiple versions and tried on 2 different computers. Qhen I launch the application, it says “Program files missing” and will not launch.

  3. I download Windows 10 isos from Microsoft using Media Creation Tool with x86 and x64 sources in one iso, and when i try to use it as a source, i got an error saying: “This doesn’t seem to be valid source! Either or all of \sources\boot\wim, \bootmgr\boot\, \boot\BCD are missing, or source is not supported. RETRY to select another source or CANCEL to return to the main menu

  4. Last week I used WinSetupFromUSB 1.6 Beta 1 to install Windows 10 Enterprise. Windows 10 Enterprise installed when the Laptop was set to CSM (legacy or compatability mode – name depends on BIOS installed). The UEFI boot system did not work – even with Secure boot switched off.

My ISO did not come from Microsoft, but another site. Microsoft web site was not responding. The other site downloaded the ISO in under 10 minutes. Please check that your Microsoft ISO (created with the Microsoft supplied program) by burning an installation DVD. If the Microsoft supplied ISO works, then a DVD made from the ISO should work.

Using WinSetupFrom USB 1.6 Beta 2, the Windows 10 Enterprise installation worked in UEFI mode.

If you still have problems, read the help documentation.

1- I used the “AUTOFORMAT IT WITH FBINST” option with “FBINST TOOL”. Remember to select FAT32 format for the USB. The documentation states that UEFI boot requires the USB be formatted with FAT32.

2 – Use “WINDOWS VISTA / 7 /8 /SERVER 2008 / 2012 BASED ISO” and then navigate to your Windows ISO. Once these settings are made then the USB installation media will be made correctly.

Note: If you select the incorrect option, you will get various error messages.

  5. Hi, I’ve succesfully created a SSD installation disk, it’s working great, but I need to create this kind of installation disc for my colleague. What software should I use? I’ve tried Acronis, but it’s not booting, even though I set in the options that disc should be bootable. Then I’ve tried Clonezilla, but it won’t even start cloning.

    • Are both ssd disks exactly the same? Disk cloning software should work, in sector by sector mode.
Why don’t you just use the program the same way as for the first disk?

    • For some reason, most cloning software (e.g. EaseUS or AOMEI) do NOT copy the necessary boot records. So, I use WINSETUPFROMUSB to create the boot record, and then any other disk copy program (or Windoze Explorer) to copy the rest of the files over. The Linux “dd” program (or the Windoze version, from http://sourceforge.net/projects/windd/) will probably work as well, assuming the two SSD’s are identical in size.

  6. Disk copies of Windows 10 installations to be restored on other computers require the other’s computers UEFI partition left intact (not over written by the doner computer’s UEFI partition). The UEFI partition has information from the computer;s BIOS and will produce an error (not boot properly and power off the computer) with an incorrect UEFI partition.

I had this problem and had to use a crack to get the 2nd Windows machine working. Remember there are several different UEFI types (Microsoft, Boot and OEM). Each UEFI type has a number of sub types. Often the BOOT UEFI works the best. And make sure UEFI SECURE is disabled.

    Hope this helps.
