Supported Sources

Here is an incomplete list of some of the supported sources tested with WinSetupFromUSB.
Since new sources are added frequently, please check again for updates.

Tests are usually performed on a NTFS formatted USB flash disk, including the Linux based ones. If there are additional steps needed to get a source going or another file system is needed, there will be a note.

Please leave a comment if you have tested another source, with a description and link to it, or if you have a request for a new one.

    • I have the same problem, are you trying to use them to install in VMware? That seems to be the only time that happens to me. Other then that, I have only tried it on a physical system that does not have UEFI capabilities.

  1. I have problem.. I have Windows XP Sp3 and Windows 7 Multi and Windows 10 32 and 64 seperate iso. now only Win 10 32 bit not working..cant boot..first error somthing about Virtual disk..i used last program version 1.6 beta2. now i delete with Bootice Win10 32 bit and add with old version of program 1-4… now error is UNMOUTABLE DISK ERROR. just for Win 10 32 bit all other windows works fine.

  2. Same here “Could not mount the virtual disk. Cannot continue, press OK to reboot.โ€ this only prompts when using the 32bit version of the home and pro edition (latest “both” creation from ms creation tool, which has the home and pro version in one ISO on the same platform, 32bit or 64bit). If I use the 64bit home and pro version it works fine. Current workaround is to use the 64bit both edition (home and pro) ISO for the 64bit installer and then download the 32bit home and pro editions **separately** (so you have for example: WinHome32bit.iso and WinPro32bit.iso and add them individually! hope this help…

    • ignore that! just re-downloaded the program from main page and its working for the 32BIT! ARRRRRRGGHH – all this time i was using the older beta or 1.6 hence why I didn’t realise. Download the latest from the homepage!

    • Ignore that and download the version from the homepage. i was using the 1.6 version but it was a older beta hence why it wasn’t working! all this time… ๐Ÿ˜ so yeah, to fix the 32bit issue with windows 10 download the program again from the homepage

  3. Thank you itโ€™s working now all very good :))

I have install winsetupfromusb software at windows 10 32bit it workin fine but when i create windows 8 and windows 10 iso from this software it is not working.
plz suggest me when I create winxp3,windows7, windows 8, windows10 and boot hiren iso cd from your software with help of 16 gb pendrive .I used this multiple Bootable usb pendrive 5-10 times.than after is not boot proper .plz tell how to backup that 16 gb pendrive for long time that means 1year or 2year

  4. Latest version 1.6(final) doesn’t seem to work with windows 10 64-bit.It errors out with disk mounting problem and says to reboot the system.

  5. Suggestion! why don’t make a multi choose at the same time like choosing multi Windows xp or windows 7,8,10

    • That’s in my wish list too, but I have no spare time to make such major changes. Same day, maybe…

    • What does “don’t work” means? What does not work, what are you booting, using what disk, what source, efi/bios mode etc. etc. what happens exactly…?

    • Have you tried adding the ISO version as Linux/other grub4dos supported ISO? Looks like it should work…

      • It worked! Frankly, the idea of using something for linux on my XP system would never(!) have occured to me. I downloaded the latest ISO file, cleared my flash drive, opened your program and chose the linux option. I am *finally* able to get my Dell Inspiron E1705 to boot from a USB.

Unfortunately, I have to withdraw my request re HDAT2. It is really not newbie/novice friendly. I believe only advanced, experienced users will figure out how it works and find it useful.

Again, many thanks for your rapid response and useful suggestion. At least now I can think about doing a bootable backup of my XP installation on a flash drive. Best wishes for continued success!
