Supported Sources

Here is an incomplete list of some of the supported sources tested with WinSetupFromUSB.
Since new sources are added frequently, please check again for updates.

Tests are usually performed on a NTFS formatted USB flash disk, including the Linux based ones. If there are additional steps needed to get a source going or another file system is needed, there will be a note.

Please leave a comment if you have tested another source, with a description and link to it, or if you have a request for a new one.

    • Just add them one after another.
There is a tutorial on the tutorials page, also liks to tutorials in several languages including Russian, there is also FAQ page worth checking.

  1. I have a little problem with windows 7 installation, on new 1151 chipset (H110, Z170, H170). The windows installation start, but stop at : initializing usb controller.

They suggest to use a USB 2.0 : Already in usb 3.0.
They suggest to remove the usb key and to replace it after 5 seconds, try this, doesn’t work.
I also try to add USB driver and chipset driver with boot critical driver option. Drivers load, but same problem.

    Stuck at this point….

  2. I slipstream AHCI, failed
    I slipstream USB 3.0 : failed.
    I slipstream CHIPSET !!!!! WORKED !

The boot critical option doesn’t work, but the slipstream worked ! Thank you !

    • Glad that you have it sorted out! Slipstreaming is usually the best option, although the most time consuming one. Hot loading works only for some…

  3. ESET SysRescue : I think the stucture of the RescueDisk change. Can’t add it as a windows based iso. Try to add it as a Grub4Dos Iso, the software does not work…. 🙁 Have no Idea. system reboot.

The new Sysrescue seem to be isolinux based. Try it that way, also have an error when bootin the iso

    • Solved (it work for me) Add a persistence of 512MB, and it worked. But you should move the Eset RescueDisk from windows to Grub4Dos

  4. how to edit an installed windows without formatting the USB and reinstall all
for example i need to install windows 10 1511 while there is an older windows 10 on the USB when i tried the both versions still exist i delete the old version ISO from \winsetup but still appears on the menu
so my question is how to edit the windows sub menu to delete the line of old version windows
ps I’m not speaking about menu.lst as it doesn’t contain the types of windows
