Supported Sources

Here is an incomplete list of some of the supported sources tested with WinSetupFromUSB.
Since new sources are added frequently, please check again for updates.

Tests are usually performed on a NTFS formatted USB flash disk, including the Linux based ones. If there are additional steps needed to get a source going or another file system is needed, there will be a note.

Please leave a comment if you have tested another source, with a description and link to it, or if you have a request for a new one.

    • For such heavily customised source you may try version 1.0 beta 8, which dumps the source as is. Mind you, with that version you can put only one such source, the next similar sources have to be used with the current version.

  1. Thank u again, Today i tested to see if I’m able to create 2 partitions first 30GB to be used for WinSetupfromUSB, the second partition 450GB occupied by win 7 lite to run from USB HD.

1 format the whole disk as 1 partition NTFS.
2 install Win 7 lite by NT6.X_fast_installer to USB .
    3. after completing the installation, create a new partition 30 GB and make necessary letter order so the 30 GB become first and format it as NTFS. mark it as Avtive partition, copy bootmgr, boot folder, autoexec.bat and config.sys to This Partation.

    4. test if booting ( i used visualBCd to tune up) , works fine.
    5. run WinSetupFromUSB (WSFU) , run bootice install Grub4dos as instructed.
6 install windows vista Rescue disk by WinsetupFromUSB (WSFU)
    7. test it by qemm……
……..KABOOM…..your program so smart,,,,it picks the windows 7 i found it in in bootmgr menu
    Windows 7
    Vista Rescue Disk

now I’m happy with my configuration i can add and still use it as portable windows.

Thank you for your smart program. hope you continue develop it. it is a great tools.

    • Want to try again with a proper attitude? And might be read FAQs beforehand? It might turn out you are missing something else, not only basic knowledge and manners…

    • I’ve just installed the free version on XP and created WinPE recovery ISO downloading files from Microsoft. Used FAT32, added it as Vista/7 ISO and it booted just fine in BIOS.
Should be fine on EFI mode too.

Have you even tried to add and test it? It will cost you 5 minutes with the software already installed…

      • thats not the EaseUS Todo Backup Emergency disk, the package your talking about it totally different, you need to purchase EaseUS Todo Backup Workstation to create EaseUS Todo Backup Emergency disk

  4. Hola.

          • Check if the antivirus program is blocking it. If that’s the case, stop it and report false positive.

            • Thanx for reply but maybe you are wronge or maybe I’m wrong. AIO (All In One) is a special ISO where are all Win7 version. I have 1 with 10 Win7 version, 5 version for x86 and 5 version for x64. When I try to add this ISO, WSFU tell me that this ISO is a multiple version and that only the first 1 window will add to the PenDrive Live Setup Multiboot… so, where is the problem ? Thanx ! P.S.: Sorry for my bad english, I’m italian !

              • Sources with more than one boot.wim are not yet supported.
You can add such using 1.0 beta8 for example, which dumps all the contents on the USB disk as they are. Limitations are:
                1) This needs to be the first source of this type, more sources of this type can be added later on with version 1.6 for example.
                2) If using FAT32 for UEFI support, install.wim must be < 4 GB
