  1. How can I edit the menu? It shows 2 lines for Windows 8.0, where as I only added it once. Please guide.

  2. please can i use my 2nd partition of an externall Hard drive as installation usb without deleting other data on the entire hard drive ? (i have tow primary partitions on the disk)

    • I guess that should be fine, just make sure first one is not more than 128 GB and you do NOT select the auto-format option which would wipe out all partitions. In addition, you might need to boot in BIOS/compatibility mode.

  3. I created windows 7 and windows 10 multi boot from my computer which is bios booting .. The usb now can boot normally on any bios based pc or labtop .. But not on u efi pc s the partion formated f32 as instructed on this faq
    Any solution please
    ??

  4. I have a question about “Add boot-critical drivers, loaded before start of Setup” option.
Could you explain me please how to add USB 3.0 drivers (not sure about AHCI/SATA/RAID drivers) for Windows 7? I searched and found that I need to download them from the Intel website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/65855
But there are 2 versions, one dated on 2017 and second – in 2014. Do I need both?
Although if I download them, which files or folders Should I choose to add?
If I’m adding Windows 7 x86 bit iso and also Windows 7 64 bit iso separately, do I need to choose drivers for each time or I just check the option once?
    please help and thanks.

    • Take a look at FAQ #7.
I’d use this option as last resort, since the drivers which require reboot won’t be loaded. Much better and reliable is to integrate the required drivers directly in the source. Which drivers and how- google should help here, there are plenty of guides of slipstreaming drivers in Win7 source.

  5. Ok, then which is the correct way: first to integrate drivers into the install image and then make bootable USB drive with Winsetupfromusb OR first to make bootable USB drive and after that update/inegrate boot.wim file with drivers?

  6. I’m asking this because I made it in first way: first I extracted files from Windows installation ISO, then integrated drivers with DISM utility, then made new ISO again an in the end made it on the USB drive with Winsetupfromusb. Now that I’m looking to boot.wim files, it appears that boot.wim after I updated it with drivers was 184.172 KB size, but after I made bootable USB, it decreased in size and now it is 148.774 KB.
I don’t understand why it decreased in size, is this how it should be?

    • First drivers then make the USB. Program optimizes boot.wim using wimlib which handles wim processing, it’s quite possible to have the size reduced. Check the log file amd you will see that action.

  7. Thanks a lot for the answers, though I couldn’t find that action in the log file (because it’s large). Your program is great!

  8. Sorry if I’m replying much, but after Win7 I also added Win8 and 10 and those boot.wim files didn’t reduced in size, so I’m not sure why it chose only Win7…

    • Likely because dism increased wim size and made room for improvement. Program tries to optimise all boot.wim’s, doesn’t pick selectively.
Search for optimizing or optimize in the log files.

  9. I want to use my 1tb external hard drive to this. I have around 10 isos, so I would use the external hard drive to format and install these, and the rest of the volume as a data disk. Can it be done? My drive is not listed

    • As discussed in one of the FAQ’s:

External hard drives, other than “Thumb Drives”, are not normally displayed, even if they are connected via the USB interface. This is because Windoze does NOT treat them as removable drives, so WinsetupfromUSB doesn’t know of their existence.

To (format) and add ISOs to an external hard drive:
      1) Click “Advanced Options”
      2) Click “Display disk drives on all interfaces”

This will add ALL your disks, internal and external, to the “USB DIsk Selection Menu”. Be careful not to select the wrong one, and wipe out your valuable data.

      • And, yes, after formatting the drive with WinsetupfromUSB FBINST, you CAN add ISOs with WinsetupfromUSB, and use the rest of the volume as a data disk.
